As a design researcher, she works towards translating complex narratives and research insights into accessible design experiences, services, and products. Her passion lies in designing for adaptable and equitable futures.
Shreya Thakkar's work lies at the intersection of spatial design, industrial design, and design research. As a design researcher, she works towards translating complex narratives and research insights into accessible design experiences, services, and products. Her passion lies in designing for adaptable and equitable futures.
She has collaborated with clients like Steelcase, Microsoft, Orange Box, Coalesse, DesignTex, Neumayr Design, and through Planning Design Research, Apache Corp., ConocoPhillips, Coco-Cola, and the Healthcare Medical Institute-The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
She enjoys learning about philosophy, sociology, and psychology. On weekends you can catch her in a local bookstore, exploring museums, or just people-watching at the public plaza.

• How can we design a system where smart cities contribute to sustainable mobility and reduce carbon emissions in the transportation sector?
• How can we design mobility solutions for aging baby boomers to support their longer lifespans and promote active aging?
• How can construction waste be utilized to promote circular design in the built environment and help address the issue of affordable housing?
